On our cover we salute the Tug Waterford, her Captain, Frank Hart, and the men and women who keep her "ship shape." The Tug Waterford was built in 1950 at the Eire Iron Works. She weighs over 24 tons, is 52 feet long, and has a 210 horsepower Waukesha engine to push that weight around. She's a husky tug and a hard worker during the canal season. We are the Benjamin Franklin Stamp Club of Waterford-Halfmoon Elementary School and the Waterbed Post Office We are a children's stamp club that commemorates local events and adds them to postal history through our special events covers. Jude Hanley designed our cover." |
