2017.261 - An advertisement for Button Engine Works in the New York State Business Directory. The ad contains what appears to be a company logo at the top and an image of a fire engine at the bottom.

2017.262 - Advertisement of Button Engine Works. The ad is split into two images, one on the top and another on the bottom. The top image shows a fire engine and says "Button Engine Works, Waterford, Saratoga Co., N.Y. established 1834. Steam and hand fire engines, steam and power pumps, hose, hose carriages, trumpets, lanterns, torches, &c.,&c. Having built nearly 700 Hand and Steam Fire Engines, with entire satisfaction to the purchasers, we feel that we can safely challenge competition in supplying the wants of any Fire Department. Orders respectfully solicited and promptly attended to." In the bottom right of the ad the words "Adv. 1867" appear to have been written. The bottom ad is another picture of a fire engine with the words "Steam fire engines, manufactured by L. Button &Son."below it.

2017.264 - A partial list of Button steam fire engines built between 1863 and 1893. This catalog contains information such as the city or town of the fire engine and the date of purchase, as well as general information on Lysander Button and the parts of the fire engines. in the upper right is the words "corrected copy HSW 5/15/ok." The initials HSW appear on a memo labeled 2018.38K. In the upper left corner of this booklet is a small piece of paper stapled to the booklet with the words "Incomplete 188 out of 200." The initials HSW stand for Harold S. Walker

2017.265 - An article describing a letter sent from William Platt to R.H. Taylor on 8/20/1838. The article is from F&W Magazine. At the top of the page, in bold letters, are the words "Fire and Water Engineering." This phrase could be the title of a publication or of a specific section. The article says the letter was dug up in Fulton, N.Y. The article also contains a copy of a circular that was attached to the letter titled "Rogers' Patent Balance Fire Engine." The circular contains an image of a fire engine and prices for engines. At the bottom of the circular are reviews from fire fighters praising Rogers' fire engines.

2017.275 - What appears to be a bill from L. Button & Son. Steubenville ordered a steam fire engine, two hose carts, and a 1000 foot fire hose. The fire engine cost $3,600, the two hose carts cost $350, and the fire hose cost $142. boxing and freight cost $12.00. Button only accepted cash at the time. On the left of the bill is an image of a fire engine, and to the left is an image of a pair of pliers. Between these images is a paragraph that reads "Bought of L. Button,[in pen: "& Son"] manufacturer of steam and hand fire engines, hook and ladder trucks, hose carriages, carts and hose, steam and power force and lift pumps of all sizes, lanterns, trumpets, torches, nozzles, couplings, pipes, buckets, and all kinds of fire apparatus. Also, patent combined wire shears & pliers, a new article."
